The sales manager will promote growth of sales through motivating and encouraging outside and inside sales people. Time is spent on monitoring sales growth through reports, recognizing weak areas, and addressing them. Quoting of large contract and new potential business is important. Must work well with a multitude of personalities and remain calm in a crisis situation.

Job Activities:
Responsible for overseeing sales activities of inside and outside sales. Must recognize weak areasand be able to be creative in promoting the salespeople to be aggressive in these areas in order to gain market share. A tracking system to follow call patterns by outside sales is maintained on a weekly basis and reviewed at the end of each month to assue sales coverage and goals are being met.

Attend daily production meetings to be aware of our schedule and make any necessary changes in order to accommodate urgent customer needs.

On a monthly basis a Market Conditions Report is to be written containng an overview of our sales efforts and conditions in the market that are affecting our sales. This report is then sent to upper management and forwarded to our headquarters.

Must be sure that all outside sales people are planning calls through itinerares that are turned in every Monday morning. Review weekly call reports and month end reports to determine actions needed to meet customer objectives.

Review and sign off on expenses that sales people turn in on a monthly basis.

Experience
Qualiications for this position include a bachelor's degree and/or equivalent applicable experience including:
Up to ten years of sales experience in a steel-related industry
A minimum of two years management experience
Good oral and written communicaion skills
Well organized and aggressive
Computer knowledge and experience
