Full rate: $15.97, entry rate: $11.97

Duties:

The mechanical laborer keeps work areas clean and orderly and is required to operate various industrial maintenance equipment. Pick up parts, paper, obects, and residue off of floor and around work stations. Empties and discards garbage. Sweeps floor, walkway, or switches using large tools such as broom, rake, or shovel; or other power-driven equipment such as a vacuum cleaner, electric broom, or stea cleaning gun. Sets up barricades for traffic control to isolate potentially dangerous situations. Operates forklift, mobile cranes, trackmobiles, and shop tractors. Sanding, fueling, cleaning and moving locomotives. Position will require throwing switchs and other duties associated with the movement of locomotives. Operation of powered hand tools. Reads federal regulatory documents dealing with the handling of hazardous materials.

Qualifications:

High school diploma / GED require. Valid driver's license required; Commercial Driver's License is preferred. Mechanical, electrical and / or welding vocational or on-the -job training is strongly preferred.
